There are 28 days left before the Sept. 24 preliminary and 70 days left before the Nov. 5 final election.
-- Bill Walczak’s campaign has released its first television ad, scheduled to air on WCVB during the 6 p.m. hour, his campaign said. The ad focuses on Walczak’s work at the Codman Square Health Center and the Codman Academy charter school. “Come on Boston, let’s think big!” Walczak says at the end. His campaign did not respond to a request for details about the ad buy.

-- Boston magazine’s David Bernstein gets his hands on video  of state Rep. Marty Walsh saying in July he would sign onto on City Councillor Rob Consalvo’s version of the People’s Pledge if the rest of the candidates. Last week, Walsh mocked the pledge, which aims to keep outside groups’ money away from the race, a “gimmick.”
-- CommonWealth magazine’s Michael Jonas notices during a mini-debate on New England Cable News that Charlotte Golar Richie mentions EMILY’S List, which endorsed the former Dorchester state representative earlier in the race, will not be making independent expenditures on her behalf .
-- Another forum: An arts and culture coalition that's dubbed itself Create the Vote will host a Sept. 9 mayoral forum. Joyce Kulhawik, head of the Boston Theater Critics Association will moderate the forum, which will be held at the Paramount Theatre on Washington St. The forum starts at 6 p.m. A work-in-progress list of forums is available here .
