Friends of the Children-Boston and lead sponsors: Sigma Prime Ventures and Berkshire Partners are hosting our 9th Annual Friend Raiser. This will be held on May 15, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the Artists for Humanity EpiCenter in Boston.
George and Jacquie McClelland are chairing the event that includes a cocktail hour, dinner, live auction and a program celebrating the successes of our children. Our theme this year is "Team Boston" signifying the fortitude, enthusiasm, and unified spirit of Boston, which symbolizes the strength, courage, and resilience of our children. We expect over 225 corporate and community partners, residents, Boston government officials, and program participants in attendance.
Friends of the Children-Boston creates generational change by engaging children from high-risk communities in 12 years of transformative mentoring relationships. We call the children we serve Achievers to demonstrate our belief in their potential. Our long-term goal is that our Achievers will graduate from high school and succeed in college. This year we are serving 132 children, ages 5-16, in 60 schools throughout greater Boston, and we will reach over 350 of their siblings and caregivers through our family support efforts.
All proceeds from this event will directly benefit the at-risk children and families that Friends-Boston serves. Tickets are $250 each and sponsorships are available for $2,500-$35,000. More information can be found at www.friendsofthechildrenboston.org/event.php .
