About the New England Women’s Leadership Awards:
NEWLA is one of Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester’s most prominent annual fundraising events. Funds raised through the event support the Club’s high-quality inclusive programming and services that benefit the 4,000 youth it serves each year.
NEWLA was established to provide girls from the Club with exceptional role models and to change and shape the lives of future leaders in the community. Since the first event in 1992, NEWLA has honored more than one hundred women who have not only risen to positions of respect and influence, but have also found ways to give back to their communities. By sharing their challenges and leading by example, the honorees teach young girls the importance of determination, compassion, and self-confidence.
