The Boston Police Department reports finding a man's body at Woodrow and Milton avenues around 6 a.m. Friday, July 2.
The Boston Herald reports [2] the man was in his 40s and apparently died from a gunshot wound. Recent months have seen a number of violent incidents in the area along Woodrow Avenue, including one murder [3] on April 19, another murder [4] on Feb. 27, a man shot eight times [5] on March 15 and a man shot on May 17. On May 27, police arrested a Woodrow Avenue storeowner [6] on gun and marijuana charges after the police ShotSpotter system detected gunfire in the area.
