Kerry to campaign with Pressley

Confirming what we Tweeted yesterday, U.S. Sen. John Kerry's campaign folks have released his schedule for the weekend, with stops planned in West Roxbury and Mattapan. Kerry, a Vietnam vet who ran for president in 2004 and has been on Capitol Hill since 1984, will be out door-knocking, hitting churches and holding signs for his former political director, Ayanna Pressley. Pressley's City Council campaign has been careful of how to use Kerry, particularly since this is a local election. Kerry has been avidly following the race: he speaks and exchanges text messages with Pressley regularly. (Though when told of Kerry's plans yesterday, one City Council At-Large candidate couldn't resist taking a shot: "Nice to have him in town.") Full weekend schedule after the jump.  Read more

JP Gazette: At-large candidate's Grove Hall home hit with a brick

Someone threw a brick through City Council At-Large candidate Tito Jackson's window, the Jamaica Plain Gazette reports. Jackson, who lives in Grove Hall, told the Gazette he believes the brick was meant to intimidate him.

It's a boy for the Connollys

City Councillor At-Large John Connolly announces the birth of Edward Ronan Connolly.

The baby came a few hours ahead of schedule: he was due on Sept. 22, the day of the preliminary.
