at-large race

At-Large race: the baby factor

City Councillor At-Large John Connolly’s schedule could get even more hectic: His wife Meg is due on Sept. 22, the day of the preliminary. “Any day now,” Connolly said. “When it’s time to go to the hospital, that’s where I’ll be.”

The new baby will join the Connollys’ one-year-old daughter, Clare.

Connolly won’t be the only guy with a new kid in tow on the campaign trail: Jamie Chisholm, who is running Ayanna Pressley’s campaign for a City Council At-Large seat, became a father on Aug. 14 after his wife Lauren gave birth to a girl, Alice Evangeline.

Survey: Who will you vote for?

Down and to the right are two surveys we're keeping open for a couple of days: One asking who has your vote for mayor (out of four candidates) and another asking who has your vote for City Council At-Large (15 candidates). For the mayoral race, we ask that City Hall employees, Local 718 members, Yoonies and McCreaites vote only once. No, seriously, guys. Much thanks to Adam Gaffin of Universal Hub for setting the surveys up.

UPDATE: Steve Garfield closes the case with whoever it was.

Radio Boston on a different crowd

Radio Boston has posted its show on whether members of the "New Boston" running means that "New Boston" will be voting: So, do candidates like Tito Jackson, Ayanna Pressley, or Jean-Claude Sanon stand a chance with the typical crowd that shows up for a city election? Or, with all these new faces in the running, can we expect a different crowd this time around? And what does it all mean for Sam Yoon?

Of beer-sipping moderators and mayoral candidates
