Become a Basic Literacy or ESOL Tutor

Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts invites prospective volunteers to one of our informational orientations held August 16 and September 9 from 6-8 in downtown Boston. Volunteer tutors work one-to-one with students from communities throughout the Greater Boston area, including Dorchester and Mattapan, for 2-hours per week for a minimum of 9 to 12 months at mutually convenient times in public places. LVM trains volunteers to tutor adult learners in either Basic Literacy or English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Read more

Tutor For Project D.E.E.P. This Year!

Project D.E.E.P. (Dorchester Educational Enrichment Program) is seeking a few good tutors from the local community.
The commitment is one ninety (90) minute time period per week to work with one child. This period can be anytime from 3:00 - 8:00pm on any day Monday through Thursday.
There are three locations in Dorchester, and we are seeking tutors for all of them. Read more

If you cannot attend, or if you decide to enroll after our event, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can do our best to enroll your child in our programs. Seats are competitive and highly sought after, but we will do everything we can to find a spot for any students who want to enroll. Read more
Registration for Fall 2009 Classes is Going On Now at ODWIN Learning Center

Registration for Fall Classes is currently underway at ODWIN Learning Center. Classes begin on September 9, 2009. ODWIN Learning Center offers Foundation Courses in Math, English Grammar, Reading and Study Skills and Advanced Courses in Algebra, Biology, Chemistry, Composition, Humanities and Pharmacological Math.
Two new courses are being offered beginning this semester: Communication Skills for Non-Native English Speakers and College Survival Skills. Read more
