Photo courtesy Matt Sweeney/DYHThe Dorchester Youth Hockey girls 12 & under team defeated Canton today for the South Shore Championship. The Lady Chiefs took home the title thanks to a third period goal by Brenna Galvin to tie the score at 1-1. Then in overtime, Katie Nolan scored on a power play goal to win the game. Coach Driscoll raved about the goaltending of Patrice Guerarde and the defensive play by the entire team. Great job, Lady Chiefs!  Read more

Dorchester Youth Hockey's Mite A are winners

Dorchester Youth Hockey's Mite A team defeated Hyde Park last weekend to win the District 1 Championship. This year the Mite A team won the Mayor's Cup and the District Championships in losing only 1 game all season. Congratulations to the players Brendan T. Donovan, Aidan Burke, John. B. Another Dot hockey prospect headed for the Heights

Every day, Jimmy Hayes puts on his hockey pads, laces up his skates, and dons his country's hockey jersey. As a member of the under-18 team at the National Team Development Program, Hayes is one of a select few that get to play day in and day out for the good old U.S. of A. But the forward still hasn't forgotten about Dorchester, the place he grew up playing on ice.  Read more
