Dorchester House Multi-Service Center is offering Free Flu Shots every Saturday from 9am - 1pm through Dec. 12th. Seasonal flu shots are available currently, and H1N1 (Swine flu) vaccines should be available in early November. No appointment necessary. City preps for second bout of swine flu

With Boston expecting another hit of the swine flu virus this fall, local health centers are working to set up flu clinics to vaccinate residents for both the novel virus and the seasonal flu.

“Everybody is prepared in case things go badly in the community,” said Edward Grimes, head of the Uphams Corner Health Center. “The first time was a surprise as all of us experienced.”  Read more

Lilla G. Frederick closed for swine flu

One confirmed case of H1N1 ifluenza plus 12 teachers and 144 out of 600 students out sick equals another school closed to help prevent the spread of the virus commonly referred to as the swine flu. Boston Public Schools announced the one-week closure of the Lilla G. Frederick Middle School on Columbia Road today at 4:35 p.m.  Read more

Cases cited in state; health officials on swine flu watch

Citing an outbreak in Lowell as well as clusters of cases that have popped up across the country, state and local health officials and neighborhood caregivers are bracing for the possible serious incursion of a deadly swine flu strain into the region this week.
