North Cambridge Catholic High School will move into the former St. William Grammar School on Savin Hill Avenue next year, the Reporter learned today. The high school has been engaged in on-again, off-again negotiations with the Archdiocese of Boston and local church officials since early 2009. The school building, which has been largely dormant since the former St. William school closed two years ago, will be sold to the high school for $1.2 million. Read more

C.F. Donovan's, the popular Dorchester neighborhood restaurant and bar on Savin Hill Ave. across from the T station, was shuttered this week and appears closed. The doors remain locked and the windows are covered with brown paper. Read more

Physical Self-Defense Training partnered with Reflective activities around topics of Conflict Resolution and De-escalation, setting boundaries, and other topics

Girls ages 12-18
The program is free for participants, but we do ask that girls commit to all sessions. This program starts next week. We can take girls on the second session if necessary.
THE ROXBURY COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD(CRAB)has membership openings and is seeking individuals who live or work in Roxbury, Dorchester or Mattapan and are interested in helping to end health disparities and
expand participation in medical research.
THE ROXBURY CRAB is composed of residents who are working to improve community understanding of and responsiveness to community based and clinical research in the Community and work to advise researchers. A one-alarm fire broke out at C.F. Donovanâ€™s restaurant on Savin Hill Ave. Wednesday morning, causing what Boston Fire Department spokeman Steve MacDonald was an estimated $10,000 in damages. Located in the basement level, the fire caused some smoke damage to the popular Savin Hill Ave. eatery but there was little or no damage to the dining area. There were no injuries and Donovanâ€™s was open for business as of noon Wednesday. Read more
Project D.E.E.P. (Dorchester Educational Enrichment Program) is seeking a few good tutors from the local community.
The commitment is one ninety (90) minute time period per week to work with one child. This period can be anytime from 3:00 - 8:00pm on any day Monday through Thursday.
