C.F. Donovan's open for business despite small early-morning fire

A one-alarm fire broke out at C.F. Donovan’s restaurant on Savin Hill Ave. Wednesday morning, causing what Boston Fire Department spokeman Steve MacDonald was an estimated $10,000 in damages. Located in the basement level, the fire caused some smoke damage to the popular Savin Hill Ave. eatery but there was little or no damage to the dining area. There were no injuries and Donovan’s was open for business as of noon Wednesday.  Read more

Tutor For Project D.E.E.P. This Year!

Project D.E.E.P. (Dorchester Educational Enrichment Program) is seeking a few good tutors from the local community.

The commitment is one ninety (90) minute time period per week to work with one child. This period can be anytime from 3:00 - 8:00pm on any day Monday through Thursday.

There are three locations in Dorchester, and we are seeking tutors for all of them.  Read more

Breaking news: Talks resume to bring Cambridge school to Savin Hill

September 27-- The Boston Archdiocese and the parish that owns the site of the former St. William’s School are back in negotiations over locating a private Roman Catholic high school to Savin Hill, the Reporter has learned.  Read more

If you cannot attend, or if you decide to enroll after our event, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can do our best to enroll your child in our programs. Savin Hill architect duo has plans for their neighborhood and city

With renewal and new development stretching across all corners of Dorchester, two architects committed to the neighborhood they call home are excited about prospects for themselves and the public.

RODE Architects, consisting of Eric James Robinson (the titular Ro) and Kevin Deabler (the De) operate out of a small office on the first level of a three-decker on Elton St., balancing large-scale projects across the state with smaller, but by no means less important, jobs in Dorchester.  Read more

Last weekend's second annual Dorchester Beach Festival drew a great crowd for an afternoon of fun in the sun at two of Dorchester's three beaches: Savin Hill and Malibu.

Neponset Health Center teams up with Neighborhood Health Plan

Starting Friday July 10th Neponset Health Center will be hosting a health insurance table hosted by a Neighborhood Health Plan representative. Neighborhood Health Plan will be in the lobby of the Neponset Health Center every other Friday from 9am-2pm with information on the health insurance plans that are available to everyone. The Neighborhood Health Plan rep. will be able to answer any questions that you may have about their plans and will help find out which plan will work best for you. They will also have FREE giveaways for people who come in for information.  Read more
