A snow-white intro to the winter solstice

A snow-white intro to the winter solstice: Fall turned into winter on Monday, an event ushered in by a nice ‘n easy weekend northeaster that laid a foot of snow or more or less on the city and close environs and cloaked St. Ann’s Church down Ashmont Street with a coating of holiday white. For most Bostonians it was lie low on Sunday morning and then get out and move the light stuff around. Then back to work on Monday. Boston’s schoolchildren slept late, though. The city shut down the schools for the day to let the clean-up crews do their thing.
