Dot performers among finalists for Berklee scholarships

Faraday FontimusFaraday FontimusAllbertrand PierreAllbertrand PierreChristiana McMullenChristiana McMullenSix Dorchester teens will be performing in Berklee College of Music's 17th annual Berklee City Music Scholarship Concert on Tuesday, August 10, 7:30 p.m. Talented teens from the Boston area and Berklee City Music Network sites across the country will perform rock, pop, jazz, inspirational music and r&b songs. Following tradition, students will only learn of their scholarship awards when their identities are revealed from the stage at a break in the concert.

Among the Dot performers are Albertrand Pierre, Boston Latin Academy, Trumpet; Tiziana Maddaloni, Boston Arts Academy, Voice; Faraday Fontimus, Boston Arts Academy, Trumpet; Christiana McMullen, Boston Arts Academy, Voice/Piano; John Margaris, Boston Latin School, E. Bass; and Elideusa Gomes-Almeida, Boston Latin School, Voice/Piano/Guitar/Tuba/Violin. Each of the students studied music through Berklee's City Music program during the school year and won a scholarship to attend their intensive Five-Week Summer Performance Program.
The concert will be staged at Berklee Performance Center, 136 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston.
Due to the popularity of the concert, all seats will be ticketed. Tickets are $5 in advance, $10 at the door. Student tickets are $1 with any student I.D. All tickets can be purchased on www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000 or in person at the Berklee Performance Center Box Office, 136 Massachusetts Avenue, Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
