Open Studios week coming in October

The Dorchester Arts Collaborative will present Open Studios on Saturday and Sunday, October 23 and 24, from noon to 5 p.m., at locations throughout Dorchester. Exhibit locations include First Parish Church, The Great Hall in Codman Square, Pearl Street Studios, Humphreys Street Studios and The Boston Home.

This year’s annual celebration of local artists will kick off with a performance by ARTiculation, a group of poets, musicians and dancers on October 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Humphreys Street studios. The gallery at Hancock 309 hosts the opening reception on Friday, October 22, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Each year, more than 40 artists participate in Open Studios, which showcases artists and their wide range of artwork and handmade crafts—from paintings and photographs to jewelry and wearable art.
