Three-alarm fire races through West Selden Street house

A fire that broke out around 2 p.m. on Thursday at 179 W. Selden St. went to three alarms before it was brought under control, the Boston Fire Department reports.

None of the home's nine residents were injured, one dog needed rescue, the department says, adding the fire did an estimated $300,000 in damage. Department investigators are still trying to determine the cause.
