Two teens charged with violent robbery attempt outside Ashmont T stop

The Boston Police Department reports two detectives driving down Dorchester Ave. around 7 p.m on Thursday broke up an attempt mugging in front of the Wainwright Bank.

According to police, the victim was waiting for a ride in front of the bank when two teens, one 17, the other 13, jumped him. One began punching him in the face while the other tried to get his backpack off, police said.

Lovell Stewart of Dorchester, and his alleged accomplice, not named because of his age, were both charged with unarmed robbery.

Police said the victim had bruises and red marks on his face, but did not require medical attention.
