Chaos outside the Dublin House when man shot

A Mattapan man was arraigned today on charges he shot somebody outside the Dublin House on Stoughton Street early Friday morning.

Leonard Young, 33, was ordered held in lieu of $250,000 bail at his arraignment in Dorchester District Court on chages of armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and various weapons charges, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office, which adds the victim, at first appearing near death, is now expected to recover.

According to a police statement, C-11 officers on routine patrol noticed people beginning to run from the bar at 7 Stoughton St., near Columbia Road, around 1:10 a.m.:

"At that time, officers heard what sounded like shots being fired. Officers made their way through the crowd in an effort to locate the individual responsible when several witnesses pointed officers in the direction of the suspect. Officers promptly observed an individual walking away from the location in a rushed manner."

Police say Young bent down at one point and appeared to drop an item under a parked car - which police say turned out to be keys to an Acura found nearby.

Meanwhile, officers found the victim sitting inside another parked car on Belden Street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds - and a gun inside the grounds of the Dorchester North Burying Ground on Stoughton Street.
