Man charged in June murder near Edward Everett Square

A 20 year-old Dorchester man has been arrested and charged with the June 26th murder of 25-year-old Aaron Wornum near Edward Everett Square. Prosecutors say that the defendant, Anthony Robertson, was talking to Wornum on his cell phone just before the shooting, which took place at 9 p.m. near the corner of Sumner and East Cottage streets.

Prosecutors from Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley's office asked that Robertson be held without bail. Dorchester District Court Judge Rosalind Miller granted the request. Robertson was arrested on Tuesday by the Boston Police Fugitive Unit and Youth Violence Strike Force at an Arbutus Street residence.

Robertson is due back in court on Aug. 15.
