As many as 100,000 people are expected to line the sidewalks of Dorchester Avenue on Sunday as the annual celebration of Boston's biggest and best neighborhood culminates in a traditional parade that steps off at 1 p.m. from Lower Mills. Get a (preliminary) look at the roster of marching bands, politicians, and floats that are scheduled to march.
Dorchester Day marks the original settlement of the town-turned-city neighborhood by English emigrants back in 1630. The celebration began in 1904 and has ballooned into a giant, all-day party centered around the three-mile parade up Dot's main thoroughfare.
