Two-alarm fire on Mt. Ida Road sends firefighter to hospital

The Boston Fire Department is investigating the cause of a large fire in a Mt. Ida Road three decker this afternoon that send a firefighter to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

The department responded to a call around 2:20 p.m. at 97 Mt. Ida Road. Firefighters found heavy fire in the front of the building.

Damage was estimated at $300,000, the department says, adding the cause is still under investigation.
