Two charged with firing guns on Savin Hill street; may have tried to flee by subway

The Boston Police Department reports arresting two men for firing guns outside 95 Auckland St. around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Responding officers found one of the suspects, Ashawda Nelson, 19, of Quincy, inside the Savin Hill Red Line stop, police say:

"Upon seeing the suspect, officers promptly ordered the suspect to the ground. A pat frisk of the suspect enabled officers to see and take possession of a firearm. When asked to produce a license to carry, the suspect stated, 'I don't have one.' "

The second suspect, Niccokawon Pledger-Grant, 21, of Dorchester, was found nearby, policy say.

Both were charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling and carrying a loaded firearm. Nobody was reported injured.

A local man was shot to death at the Savin Hill T stop on May 7.
