DOT BY THE DAY July 3 – 10, 2014

Saturday (3rd) – Mattapan resident and Berklee Music College standout Clef Nite performs live at the Middle East in Cambridge. Also known as Victor Chukwunonso Nite, the 28 year-old musician will perform a tribute, “The Boston Song” that he composed after the Marathon bombings in 2013.

“I’ve always tried to do things to help Boston and this is one of the ways I can do it until I find more ways to help,” said Nite, a guitarist and vocalist who was born in Nigeria. His band includes two female singers and six male performers who play drums, bass, piano and guitar. The genre of music played has a mixture of soul with and World Music, an afro beat, pop and jazz collision.  He idolizes India Arie, Jill Scott, Erika Badu, and Gloria Estefan.

“I like to write about the life experiences I go through in hopes that I can make a change in my environment, inspire people, teach moral lessons and make everyone at peace with my music,” said Nite.

The Middle East Club is located at 480 Massachusetts Ave. Learn more about the artist online at clefnite.com.
