House votes to pause evictions and foreclosures

The House on Thursday afternoon passed a bill (H 4615) to put a moratorium on evictions and foreclosures during the coronavirus emergency, quickly advancing the bill to the Senate after it was released in the early afternoon by the Committee on Ways and Means.

The Senate earlier this week had unveiled its own bill to provide housing security for renters and homeowners during the pandemic, but leaders had not yet put the bill on the floor for a vote.
