The new Dot Tire Studios, home of the forthcoming Lêgacy Càphê Roasters, has spruced up the old Dorchester Tire location at 1160 Dorchester Ave. just in time to host the first event on the site – a Food and Friends Dorchester community block party this Sunday (Aug. 24) from noon to 4 p.m. This happening will be a collaboration between Dot Tire Studios, Boston Little Saigon, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dorchester (BGCD), and Vietnamese American Community of Massachusetts. It will be hosted on the old tire shop site, which got a speedy and sleek paint job last week, with free food from the organizers and a family play area sponsored by BGCD.
Other culinary options will include zany food fusions made only in Dorchester. One of the combinations will be a Vietnamese Birra Taco put together by Pho Hoa Restaurant and El Barrio Taqueria. Reign Drink Lab will return to Dorchester for the day to sell Vietnamese coffee alongside pastries from Via Cannuccia. The event will also feature cultural performances and a DJ. Seth Daniel photo
