The owners of the popular Scobie’s Café & Bar in Dorchester’s Adams Village have set up a second shop – in Boston City Hall, a venue they gained through a competitive bid process.

John and Anne Lydon celebrated the opening of their third-floor lobby location during a ribbon-cutting last Wednesday (June 4) with Mayor Wu and City Councillors Erin Murphy, John FitzGerald, and Ed Flynn on hand.

“Scobie’s has blended John and Anne Lydon’s family roots between Dorchester and Ireland – creating space for community, whether meeting up with friends over the weekend or catching a game,” said the mayor. “We are thrilled to welcome Scobie’s to City Hall and look forward to their re-activation of the third floor lobby with their beautiful, family-run business.”

The Café at City Hall will be open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“Our hope is that it becomes a welcoming hub where we can share a cup, and become part of the daily rhythm of City Hall,” said Anne Lydon.
