The folks at MSPCA-Angell have put out a call for tips from the public about a miniature poodle-mix who was found emaciated and shivering near Geneva Avenue in Dorchester on Monday.
A Good Samaritan brought the doggo— which the animal hospital has nicknamed “Fiyero”— to the MSPCA-Angell Boston Adoption Center for care.
“Fiyero’s background at this point is kind of a mystery,” said MSPCA-Angell Vice President of Animal Protection, Mike Keiley. “All we know right now is that he was found outside and was incredibly skinny when he was brought to our care, which is obviously concerning. He was also very matted.”

“It’s possible that he has owners out there who are frantic to find him. It’s also possible that his owners are the reason that he was so skinny when he came in,” Keiley added.
The MSPCA-Angell asks that anyone with information contact MSPCA-Angell Law Enforcement by phone at 617-522-6008 or 800-628-5808 or online at mspca.org/tip.
“Fortunately, Fiyero’s with us now, so we’ll be able to get him to a healthier weight while we work to find out how he came to be in such bad shape,” said Keiley.
Those who would like to donate to help offset the cost of Fiyero’s care are asked to give at mspca.org/fiyero.
