Haitian Independence celebrated at annual gala

The Haitian-Americans United, Inc. (H.A.U.) hosts the 20th annual Haitian Independence Gala at Lantana's, 43 Scanlon Dr. Randolph, MA on Saturday, January 5, starting at 7 p.m. The event serves as a unique opportunity for dignitaries, local community leaders to get together to honor Haiti’s ancestors, celebrate the victory of the 1791 Haitian Slave Revolution, and commemorate the 215th anniversary of the Proclamation of Haiti’s Independence.

The Keynote Speaker for the Gala is Brockton City At-Large Councilor Jean Bradley Derenoncourt and Reginald Fils CEO of Urban Inspired as Guest Speaker with the welcoming remarks by Randolph City Councilor Natacha Clerge.

The event is expected to bring together more than 300 patrons of the community, raise proceeds to support H.A.U.’s Vision Campaign, which funds their scholarship fund, Haitian Heritage Month which includes the annual Haitian-American Unity parade, and other community activities.

As a non-profit organization, H.A.U. has dedicated its efforts to improving the quality of life of Haitian-Americans in Massachusetts and Haiti. Successfully, they have done so through education, social-economic empowerment and cultural development.

The evening’s Entertainment will be provided by Maestro Fritz Orvil with young artist Ashley Rose Villard and Williams Joseph, Aashka Dance Troup. etc.
