Tracking projects on Dot streets

At any given time in Dorchester, traffic hassles can add a snag to your day. Street improvements, neighborhood cleanups, detours, repaving, water and sewer renovations – they all cause unexpected delays and disruption to the neighborhood.

With an eye to spotlighting the pace of all these projects in Dorchester, the Reporter will begin next week to publish summaries and updates on on-going construction projects.

Following is a list of public works said by the city to be in process:

• Water main, sewer and drain replacement at Kosciuszco circle, which caused months of disruption to the area between the Bayside Expo Center and JFK/UMass MBTA station.
• Water main replacement on Alexander St. between Bird St. and Dudley St.
• Sewer and drain replacement on Bird St. between Glendale St. and Sayward St.
• Sewer and drain replacement on Massachusetts Ave. from Allstate Rd. to Columbia Rd.
• Water main, sewer, and drain replacement on Roseclair St.
• Water main, sewer and drain replacement on Springdale St.
• Sewer and drain separation and water main replacement on Morrissey Blvd. from Mount Vernon St. to Savin Hill Cove Bridge.
• Water main replacement on Daly St.
• Water main and sewer replacement on Freeport St.
• Water main rehabilitation on Gallivan Blvd. from Granite Ave. to Neponset Ave.
• Sewer, drain and water main work on Greenwich St. between Dorchester Ave. and Freeport St.
• Sewer, drain and water main replacement and sewer rehabilitation along Josephine St.
• Water main, sewer and drain replacement along Tenean St. along Conley St.
