Police say would-be restaurant burglar gets himself trapped

The Boston Police Department reports workers opening up La Belle Capoise restaurant at 884 Morton St. this morning were surprised to hear somebody yelling for help.

Police say Frandy Jean, 17, broke into the restaurant sometime overnight and had somehow gotten himself wedged between floorboards and a freezer. "The suspect was extricated by Boston Police and Boston Fire then transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Suspect is listed in critical condition."

Police say that once he recovers, Jean will have to appear in court on charges of breaking and entering in the nighttime and possession of burglarious tools.

It's the second time this year that the Dorchester teen has been charged with attempted burglary. In February, police arrested Jean as he allegedly tried to chisel his way into a check-cashing place across the street from the B-3 police station - after nearby residents complained about the noise from his hammering.
