After Walczak's abrupt exit, new president for Carney Hospital tapped

Sources tell the Dorchester Reporter that Andy Davis is the new president at Carney Hospital.

Members of hospital’s board met at the Dorchester Ave. facility this afternoon, with Davis, a healthcare executive from Florida, in attendance. Davis attended the private meeting with Josh Putter, the chief operating officer of Steward Health Care System, which owns Carney Hospital.

The appointment comes after Bill Walczak, who was named the head of the hospital 14 months ago, abruptly parted ways with Steward earlier this month.

The story was updated at 4:58 p.m. with background on Davis.
