Chamber Music season kicks off on January 25

Ashmont Hill Chamber Music launches its 2015 concert with a performance by the Borromeo String Quartet on Sunday, January 25 at 3 p.m. The concert will be held in the newly restored Peabody Hall of All Saints Church. The quartet will be performing Schubert’s quartet in G major, D. 887, and two late Beethoven quartets, String Quartet No. 13 in B major Op. 130, and Quartet in B-flat Major, Op. 133, the Grosse Fuge.
Now celebrating their 25th anniversary, the Borromeo have performed a vast repertoire worldwide and collaborated with many of today’s great composers and performers. They have been the faculty ensemble-in-residence at the New England Conservatory of Music for twenty-two years and work extensively with the Library of Congress, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

A reception follows the concert and everyone is invited to attend and meet the musicians. General admission is $25, students are $18, and children under 13 are admitted free. Tickets can be bought at the door, by calling Christina Keefe at 617-680-7542, or by visiting ahchambermusic.org.
