DOT BY THE DAY Jan. 29 - Feb. 7, 2015

Thursday (29th) – The Irish International Immigrant Center (IIIC) begins a six-week citizenship course on Jan. 29 that runs through March 5. The two-hour classes are offered twice on Thursdays in the afternoon from 1-3 p.m., and again in the evening from 6-8 p.m. The course covers all of the 100 naturalization test questions and writing sample requirements. Students gain a deeper understanding of the principles of US history and civics. The entire process of US naturalization is reviewed including the interview that the applicant will undergo. IIIC citizenship specialists and immigration attorneys are also available to answer any questions. Monday (2nd)
– Columbia Savin Hill Civic Association meeting at the Little House, East Cottage St. starts at 7 p.m.
• Official naming ceremony for the Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building at the corner of Washington and Vernon streets in Dudley Square, Roxbury, starts at 1 p.m. Seating limited.

Friday (6th)
– First in a new monthly Dorchester Civic Forum series sponsored by First Parish Dorchester and Bowdoin Geneva Residents Association will be held at 7 p.m. in the hall of First Parish Meetinghouse, at 10 Parish St. To get involved and help in planning, please reach out to Judy Meredith at judy@realclout.org
