• Halloween Party & Magic Show in Lower Mills from 4-6 p.m. at the Lower Mills Branch of the Boston Public Library, 27 Richmond St, Dorchester. Friday (30th)
– Franklin Park Halloween Night Hike 7-8:30 p.m. at Franklin Park, 1 Franklin Park Rd, Dorchester. Meet at the Valley Gates Parking Lot midway along the main park road. Look for the lighted Jack O’Lantern. No flashlights allowed! Guided hike in the Franklin Park forest. Wear walking shoes, costumes not recommended.

Saturday (31st)
– Len Cabral: Some Scary Stories and Some Not at JFK Library at 10:30am. JFK Library, Dorchester. For kids, ages 5 and up. Come in costume. Reservations are required, but the event is free. See jfklibrary.org

Tuesday (3rd)
– Election Day in the City of Boston. Polls open 7 a.m.- 8 p.m. Voters will elect Boston City Councillors in district and at-large seats.

• Roberts Playground Community Meeting, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Dorchester YMCA, 776 Washington St., Dorchester. The Boston Parks and Recreation Department and the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services invite the public to discuss upcoming improvements to Roberts Playground. Thursday (5th)
– Citywide community meeting for parents, educators and students to discuss creating a unified enrollment system for district and charter schools in Boston. 5:30p.m. at Grove Hall Community Center, 51 Geneva Ave. Dorchester.

Friday (6th)
– South Boston Collaborative Center Comedy Night at Florian Hall, 7 p.m. $25 tickets at the door.
