Four-alarm fire on Alpha Road displaces 16

The Boston Fire Department reports a fire called in around 5:40 p.m. on Saturday in a three-family house at 29 Alpha Rd. went to four alarms before it was brought under control.

No injuries were reported; the Red Cross has been called in to help the 10 adults and six children displaced by the fire find a place to stay.

The department reports on the cause: "Fire Investigators have determined cause was accidental. Started in a first floor front room. On the cause, specifically a flammable liquid came in contact with a lit candle."

The department estimates damage at $750,000.
