New Bolling Center now open in Dudley Square

On Saturday April 25th, Mayor Martin J. Walsh and John McDonough, Boston Public Schools Interim Superintendent, officially opened the new BPS Headquarters at the Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building in Dudley Square, Roxbury.

The day was also the debut of a spectacular artwork by Dorchester’s own Clarita Stephens, the artist who designed the eighty-one foot long mural that beautifies the School Committee Room, a public auditorium tucked into the second floor. Stephens was seated in the front row as dignitaries cut the blue ribbon, which looked a bit like one of the long colored stripes featured in her mural composition.

The event was introduced by Catherine Hardaway, former co-chair of the Dudley Vision Advisory Task Force; Benediction by Reverend Dr. Michael Haynes; National Anthem by Mahama Germain, Boston Arts Academy; Music provided by students from the Boston Arts Academy: Gustav Hossain-Endl, Miguel Diaz, Kernet Crayton, Antonio Shiell-Loomis, Dan Winshall, and Joshua Sutherland; with Madison Park High School ROTC Honor Guard; Refreshments from Haley House.
