Casey Arborway work to impact roads, T platform

One side of the Forest Hills MBTA station platform closed this week to allow for continued work at the station as part of the Casey Arborway reconstruction project. Crews will be performing electrical work in preparation of jet fans that will be installed by Fri., Sept. 23. Orange Line service will not be impacted, according to state officials. The entire platform is scheduled to reopen in December.

During the week of Sept. 19, full reconstruction work on the eastbound Arborway will begin from the western limits of the project to the crest of the hill. During that work, a short segment of the Arborway eastbound will be reduced to a single lane. Two through lanes and the right turn lane will be maintained as drivers travel down the hill toward the station. This work is anticipated to be completed by Sept. 30.

During the week of Sept. 12, crews will be performing light, curbing and sidewalk work between Washington Street and Shea Circle. Also, drainage work will be performed west of South Street in the area previously occupied by the overpass. During that same week, busway extension and steel work will continue at the Forest Hill station.
