Thursday (17th)– Monthly meeting of the Boston State Hospital Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the Foley Building, 249 River St., Mattapan. Members of the public are invited to attend.

Saturday (19th)
– Dorchester St. Patrick’s Day Brunch to benefit Mary Ann Brett Food Pantry features Hall of Fame inductees Jim Rooney, Marie St. Fleur, and W. Paul White. Special guests include: Governor Charlie Baker and Mayor Martin Walsh. 9:30 a.m., 800 Columbia Rd., Dorchester.

Sunday (20th)
– South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast hosted by Senator Linda Dorcena Forry starts at 10 a.m. and will be televised live on New England Cable News. Parade in South Boston follows at 1 p.m., Broadway.

• Dorchester Historical Society program on Evacuation Day history includes portrayal of historic residents discussing the events leading up to the fortification of Dorchester Heights and life in the second half of the 18th century. 2 p.m. at the William Clapp House, 195 Boston St. Dorchester.

Monday (21st)
– Imagine Boston 2030 community workshop at Catholic Charities Teen Center at St. Peter’s on Bowdoin St., Dorchester, 6-8 p.m.

Tuesday (22nd)
– Imagine Boston 2030 community workshop at Murphy School, 1 Worrell St., Dorchester, 6-8 p.m.

Thursday (24th)
– The traditional Dorchester Day kick-off meatloaf dinner will be held from 6-8 p.m. at First Parish Church on Meetinghouse Hill. The event will be catered by Pat’s Pizza. Proceeds from admission tickets support the Dot Day Parade.

• Historian Ellen Fitzpatrick discusses her new book, The Highest Glass Ceiling: Women’s Quest for the American Presidency at the Kennedy Library, Columbia Point at 6 p.m. The book focuses on the campaigns of Victoria Woodhull (1872), Margaret Chase Smith (1964), and Shirley Chisholm (1972), and how their journeys illuminate today’s political landscape.
