– Fundraiser for Mark DeLuca, Sr., father of five, retired Boston Police Officer, former Chief of Police in Duxbury and Cohasset, and a longtime boxing instructor at the McKeon Post in Dorchester. Florian Hall at 6 p.m. $25 admission include cocktails, entertainment, raffles, auction. Only 600 tickets will be sold for the $10,000 raffle and the tickets are $100 a person. • Boston Ballet presents annual performance at Dorchester’s Strand Theatre, featuring selections from its current season and original works. A free show for BPS students is held at 11 a.m. and a ticketed event is set for 7 p.m. for general admission. The evening performance is preceded by a 5:30 p.m. special event with Uphams Corner Main Street.

Saturday (9th)
– Community Breakfast fundraiser event from 9 to 11 a.m. at Blue Hill Boys & Girls Club, 15 Talbot Ave. The event helps raise funds for the Club’s Teen Center, it’s children’s programs and the weekend children’s programs that are run by the Boston Police Officers of the B-3 Community Service Office. Guest speakers this year include: Mayor Marty Walsh, MBTA Chief of Police Kenny Green and Boston Police Superintendent Lisa Holmes. Suggested donation: $20.
