Winter Arts Programming

Winter Arts Programming - All of our Arts related programming is housed on the 4th floor of the Paul McLaughlin Center. We currently offer Fine Arts, Music, Photography and Film programming. Each core area offers drop-in programming after school and enrichment activities in the evening hours. In the Fine Arts program we will offer two enrichment classes each in Painting, Sculpture, Fashion Design, and Architecture as well as a special class in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts. In the Media Arts we will offer Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Photography as well as the BGCD Film Academy, Making the Short Film, Club News Team, and Fun Fridays. Our Music Clubhouse, which is supported in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which receives support from the State of Massachusetts and the National Endowment for the Arts, will offer a variety of activities including: Lessons (drums, saxaphone, guitar, voice, piano and bass), Beatmaking & Songwriting, Step Squad, Drumline, Music Council, Activity Nights, Future Music Group, and more. As they do on a quarterly basis, all three program areas will come together in March to host the “Arts Bash,” a celebration of works created by members during the Winter session. For more information on our Arts programming, or to inquire on available enrichment program openings, please contact Ayeisha Mathis (amathis@bgcdorchester.org).
