Arroyo calls for a hearing on COVID health inequities

District 5 City Councillor Ricardo Arroyo, representing Hyde Park and parts of Mattapan and Roslindale, this week filed a hearing to discuss health inequities and how ventilators and ICU beds would be assigned in the event of a shortage during the COVID-9 pandemic.

Arroyo, who is also Chair of the Public Health Committee, is calling for a hearing to discuss proposed guidelines that recommend how ventilators or intensive care beds are rationed in the event of a shortage and to ensure that long standing health inequities do not play an intentional or unintentional role in deciding who gets medical care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The hearing order will appear on the City Council Agenda on Wed., April 15 at noon. The meeting will be held virtually on Zoom, to watch live visit: https://www.boston.gov/departments/city-council/watch-boston-city-counci....
