Solmon Chowdhury, owner of Shanti Indian Cuisine, 1111 Dorchester Ave., says the restaurant is re-opening for takeout and delivery on May 1.
Chowdhury was forced to close the restaurant a month ago, when his supplies of spices and other ingredients in the New York area dried up. But now, "our supply chains are up and running again," he wrote customers on Friday.
Pickup and delivery will be available between 1 and 8 p.m.
Among the steps restaurant owner Chowdhury says he and his staff are taking to ensure everything is safe: All employees will get temperature checks before and after their shifts, will wear and frequently change gloves and will wear masks. All deliveries will be contactless and "all staff will be provided private rides so they do not have to take public transportation, so we can reduce exposure."
