Teen pronounced dead after daylight shooting in Dorchester

An investigation is underway following the fatal shooting of a teenager in broad daylight on Wednesday afternoon in Dorchester. Police initially responded to an emergency call of shots fired at around 12:11 p.m near 6 Cameron St., where they found a male victim suffering from apparent gun shot wounds.

The victim, who is in his “late teens,” was pronounced dead after being transported to a nearby hospital, Suffolk District Attorney Rachael Rollins said.

Authorities arrested and charged a 15-year-old boy at the scene for possession of a loaded firearm following the shooting. Boston Police Commissioner William Gross said it is not clear whether or not the teenager arrested for a gun possession was the shooter. Detectives found another gun at the scene.

The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Boston police at 1-800-494-TIPS or 617-343-4470.
