Savin Hillbillies plan two Dot performances in March

The Dorchester-based quintet Savin Hillbillies includes Bill Walczak, left, on accordion and vocals, James Hanford, Jonathan Keller, Joe Lutz and Rob Atterbury.

The Savin Hillbillies, a five-piece country and Irish music ensemble fronted by Dorchester resident and longtime health center pioneer Bill Walczak, will play a fundraiser show at Dorchester Brewing Company’s new roof-deck “Hopservatory” next Wednesday, March 4 from 6-9 p.m. in support of the Uphams Corner Health Center.

The event will feature ribs, beer, great music, and spectacular views of the city— all for a $100 donation to a venerable health care institution that has been serving Dorchester and Roxbury for the last half century. For tickets, contact Jenna Tonet at JTonet@uphams.org.

The following week, the Savin Hillbillies will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with an Irish-heavy set at Tavolo Restaurant in Ashmont on Sat., March 14 from 7:30-10 p.m. Sing along with the Hillbillies while you enjoy great food and drink! No cover.

The Dorchester-based quintet is comprised of seasoned musicians and features Walczak on accordion and vocals, Rob Atterbury on guitar and vocals, James Hanford on fiddle, Jonathan Keller on standup bass fiddle, and Joe Lutz on banjo and vocals.
