A Dorchester woman was arrested Tuesday on charges she set a Mora Street three decker on fire - in a two-alarm blaze in which Boston firefighters rescued several residents, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office and the Boston Fire Department report.

Nikia Rivera, 45, was arraigned in Dorchester Municipal Court on a charge of arson of a dwelling. Judge Erika Reis ordered her sent to a DMH facility in Worcester for an evaluation.

The DA's office provided this account:

"At about 11:20 a.m. today officers were dispatched to a building fire at 74 Mora Street in Dorchester. A witness to the fire told officers that Rivera told him 'I'm sorry, I had to do it' before leaving the scene on foot. Officers later made contact with Rivera. She told them 'I had to do it. That house is haunted. I lit the house on fire.' She further told booking officers: 'The devil made me do it, there are ghosts in my house.'

The three-family house is owned by a Brockton man, according to city and state records.

The fire department says two residents were slightly injured by the fire, which spread to all three floors of the building.
