Metamorphosis’s Retzos bids adieu to Lower Mills

Lefteris “Ted” Retzos, longtime proprietor of the Metamorphosis convenience store on Washington Street in Lower Mills, bade farewell to his final customers on New Year’s Eve when the business closed its doors for good to make way for a new, 24-unit residential building that is expected to be built in the coming months.

Joey Arcari, a Boston developer, purchased the building and land from Retzos and his family last year. Arcari’s building plan also calls for 1,600 square feet of ground-floor retail space in the new building, which will rise between the Star Market on River Street and Spukies N Pizza.
