A new bird-themed mural now dominates the side of a building at 1487 Dorchester Ave. in Fields Corner. The “Fly, Like You” artwork was created by the street artist “Rixy,” a Roxbury native and UMass Boston graduate who displayed her first-ever mural at the same location five years ago.
“Back then, that was the first time I’d been on a lift or painted 10-feet up in the air,” Rixy told the Reporter while taking a break from painting. “In going back, I noticed how much of me is still there.”
This mural was commissioned by Fields Corner Main Streets.
