The Boston Fire Department reports a three-alarm fire at 418 Bowdoin St. displaced one resident and sent one firefighter to the hospital after it broke out around 6 a.m. on Saturday.

Commanders briefly called a "mayday" alert when one firefighter was unaccounted for, but he was found unharmed outside the building.

The department reports that despite flames shooting out of the building, they were able to keep the fire from spreading to neighboring homes.
