The MBTA says construction will start in early April on a new, sloped walkway at Milton Station along Adams Street, with work expected to continue through August.

The project aims to improve accessibility and provide safer access between Adams Street and the station, near the Neponset Greenway trail.

Planned upgrades include removal of existing pavement and curbing, installation of a new concrete walkway, granite curbing, and asphalt, as well as improvements to retaining walls.

Crews will also install new lighting, security cameras, handrails, and updated station and trail signage. Landscaping and site work are also included.

The station will remain open during construction, T officials said.
