Mayor Michelle Wu and Boston Legacy FC on Monday announced the formation of a 15-member White Stadium Neighborhood Advisory Council to provide community input on the ongoing redevelopment and future operations of White Stadium in Franklin Park.
The council, created under the project’s lease and cooperation agreement, is intended to serve as a formal forum for neighborhood feedback on issues including transportation, scheduling, sound, and overall stadium operations. Members represent Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, Roxbury, and Mattapan, along with park users, Boston Public Schools athletics, local businesses, and youth sports organizations.
The advisory group will receive regular updates from city agencies, BPS Athletics, and Boston Legacy FC, and will review annual reports on stadium operations and transportation plans after each season.
Luis Perez Demorizi of Franklin Park, Boston Legacy FC’s Matt Balk, and City Coordinator Anshi Moreno Jimenez will serve as co-chairs. The council also includes three district city councillors as ex-officio members: Brian Worrell, District 4 Benjamin J. Weber, District 6, and Rev. Miniard Culpepper, District 7.
City officials said the body will help ensure ongoing community involvement as the project moves toward completion and operation, while also advising on a separate $500,000 annual community fund tied to the development.
