The Massachusetts Affordable Homeownership Alliance (MAHA) held the 18th annual Taste of Dorchester event in the IBEW hall on Freeport Street on Thurs., April 30, with some of the best restaurants in the neighborhood represented for attendees to sample.
MAHA Executive Director Symone Crawford welcomed everyone and invited all to vote for their favorite restaurant. Featured purveyors included Chill on Park, Chubbs Taco and Tequila Bar, Clarke’s Cakes and Cookies, DW Brewpub, El Barrio Mexican Grill, Family Affair catering, Lucy’s American Tavern, McKenna’s Café, Murl’s Kitchen, Shanti Indian Cuisine, Shea Butter Smoothies, Sweet Teez Bakery, Tavolo Ristorante, The Bowery Bar, and Yellow Door Taqueria.
The winner once again for best entrée was Murl’s Kitchen, while newcomer Family Affair catering (which at one time had a popular restaurant in Uphams Corner) took second place. The best dessert went to Shea Butter Smoothies.
